FMCSA Revoked Five Devices from the List of Registered ELDs

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s FMCSA announced today the removal of five Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) from its registered list.
List of 5 revoked ELDs:
CI ELD LOGS
CN ELD
KSK ELD
TT ELD 30
TT ELD 1010

These now appear on the FMCSA’s Revoked Devices list. This action was taken because these devices did not meet the regulatory standards outlined in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A.
The enforcement of this decision begins on February 28, 2024.
Truckers Wiki reached out for comment but have yet to hear back.

To comply with this new mandate, FMCSA advises all motor carriers using the aforementioned revoked ELDs to immediately cease their use and switch back to traditional paper logs or alternative logging software to maintain accurate hours of service records.
Additionally, these carriers must transition to compliant ELDs listed on the FMCSA’s Registered Devices list by April 28, 2024, allowing a 60-day grace period for the transition.

Should the manufacturers of these revoked ELDs rectify the identified issues, FMCSA will consider re-listing these devices as compliant and will notify the industry accordingly.

Constant Changes

We see a back-and-forth swing with some of the electronic logging devices. In the past, CI ELD Logs was removed on December 1st of 2023, but was reinstated only a week later on December 8th 2023.
