We’re thrilled that you’re interested in contributing to our growing repository of trucking knowledge. Below, you’ll find detailed guidelines for each type of article we accept: Wiki Articles, Notable Category Articles, and Blog/News Posts.
Following these guidelines will ensure that your contributions are in the aligned format.

General Guidelines for All Articles

  1. Originality: All articles must be original and not plagiarized. Content taken from other sources should be properly quoted and cited.
  2. Accuracy: Ensure all information is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the trucking industry. Fact-checking is paramount.
  3. Neutrality: Maintain a neutral tone. Avoid promotional content or subjective language.
  4. Clarity and Readability: Write in clear, concise English. Break down complex ideas into digestible segments. Learn about Flesch–Kincaid readability score here.
  5. Formatting: Use headers, bullet points, and paragraphs to structure your article. No more than one H1 tag per 750 words.
  6. Sources: Cite sources where necessary. Feel free to insert dofollow links. Target link to open in a new window.
  7. Images: Include relevant images. Ensure you have the right to use them or utilize royalty-free images. Include copyright caption if necessary.

Specific Guidelines

Wiki Article

A mix of Wiki-style and explainer articles. Define the topic and go into further detail. When possible, try to answer any potential questions the reader could have [what is, etc].
Check this article as an example.

    1. Definition: Start with a clear, concise definition of the topic.
    2. Depth: Explore the topic in detail, including historical context, industry significance, and current applications.
    3. Structure: Organize content logically, using headings and subheadings to guide the reader.
    4. References: Link to additional Truckers Wiki articles or external article sources.

Notable Category Articles (Companies, People, Software, Podcasts)

Classic Wiki-style article covering the specific topic. Example.

  1. Introduction: Provide a brief overview of the subject.
  2. History: Detail the origins, founders, and key historical milestones.
  3. Present: Describe the current state of the subject, including recent developments, achievements, and challenges.
  4. Future: Discuss known plans, upcoming projects, or expected industry impacts.
  5. Influence: Explain the subject’s significance or impact on the trucking industry.
  6. References: Include citations from reliable sources to support factual statements.

Blog/News Articles

The usual blog or news articles. Example.

  1. Relevance: For news articles ensure the topic is timely and relevant to the trucking community.
  2. Perspective: Feel free to express your stance, thoughts or ideas.
  3. Sources: Clearly cite sources of information, especially for direct quotes and statistics.
  4. Updates: If applicable, update the post to reflect new developments or corrections.

Author Box

Please provide the following for your author box:

  1. Name: Your full name or preferred pseudonym.
  2. Bio: A short biography, highlighting your connection to the trucking industry or expertise in your topic.
  3. Picture: A clear, professional headshot or relevant image.
  4. Social Media: Links to your professional social media profiles or website.

Submission Process

  1. Submit your article by email – office@truckers.wiki
  2. Your article will undergo a review for adherence to these guidelines.
  3. You may be asked to make revisions based on feedback.
  4. Once approved, your article will be published with your author box.
